Here are my art quilts created 2012-2014. The collection includes art quilts for sale.
The quilt is based on a photo I took of this canine petroglyph found on a rock wall outside Moab, Utah.

While boating with friends in Idaho on Lake Coeur d'Alene, I photographed this house and immediately thought it would make a great subject for a quilt!

Displayed at the New Mexico SAQA special exhibit Structures at the Santa Fe Capital Rotunda Gallery mid April - August 2017.

I love to play with bright vibrant colors and am fascinated by circles and overlapping layers.

I was initially dismayed when viewing the aftermath of the Silver Fire in the Black Range in Southwestern New Mexico. But when I looked closely, I could see tiny dots of the re-seeded grass starting to grow!
Displayed in the "A Color Runs Through It: A SAQA/NM Showcase" special exhibit at the Silver City Fiber Arts Festival in November, 2013. The exhibit traveled to Las Cruces, New Mexico, February - March, 2014, and to the Hubbard Museum in Ruidoso, NM, April - August, 2014.
Sold. Private collection.
The quilt is based on a photo I took in Northern New Mexico. It was started in a class with Joyce Becker at Empty Spools Seminars in April, 2013, and finished at home.

The quilt was inspired by a photo I took of two seagulls hanging out by the water's edge. I imagined them eating a banquet of their favorite foods! I love to add whimsy and use unique fabrics to tell the seagulls' story!
Sold in the 2013 SAQA auction. Hendricks Collection.
While hiking on Sandia Peak in fall 2011, I photographed this scene of aspens in their full golden glory.

The picnic area at Brooks Lake in Wyoming was a great subject for this miniature quilt that was made as a thank-you to a friend who took us on a picnic there!

This group of birds stopped by our house while migrating to take a break. I was fascinated by their shapes and long legs and thought they were a perfect subject (with added color!).
Sold in 2012 SAQA auction. Thomas Collection.
My art quilt group visited White Sands National Park in February of 2010. We made quilts reflecting that visit. "Yucca" is based on a photo I took there and I had fun interpreting it in black and white.
I started with a white piece of cloth and did a triple overdye to create this whole cloth piece that reflects the desert coming to life after the monsoon rains. It is heavily machine-quilted in different threads and motifs and then hand beaded to represent the blooming flowers.
Exhibited at the Branigan Cultural Center in Las Cruces, NM, New Mexico Art Quilters Show "Finding Solace", April - May, 2010. Exhibited at the Santa Fe Capital Rotunda Gallery, SAQA New Mexico Art Quilters Show "Timeless New Mexico", April - August, 2011.
I found the fabric with these fun "aliens." Being a new resident to New Mexico, I just had to make an alien quilt! I envisioned the aliens flying over the landscape in their flying saucers, out for a Sunday flight! Space ships are hand beaded and have a "glass" looking dome (made of plastic sheeting).
Exhibited at the New Mexico Art Quilters show "Light Fantastic" at the Branigan Cultural Center in Las Cruces, NM, August, 2009. Juried into the 2009 International Quilting Association show at the Houston International Quilt Festival in the art quilt whimsical category.
My art quilt group visited the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in November. The refuge was filled with sandhill cranes, snow geese, and other overwintering wild ducks and birds.
The challenge was to create a quilt reflecting our visit. This quilt is based on some of my many photos of the vistas. The long brown beads represent the sandhill cranes and the white beads the snow geese.
