My late friend Jo Diggs and I hiked to this spot in Freeport, Maine and enjoyed watching a pair of Osprey dive for fish in front of us and bring them to chicks in their nest in the highest tree on the island.

When driving home, I have a wonderful view of the Mimbres Valley and the Black Range Mountains when coming down Acklin Hill. It is especially beautiful in the fall when the Cottonwood trees along the Mimbres River are cloaked in stunning yellow and gold colors.

Walking down the dirt road on Monhegan Island, I was struck by the contrast of the very traditional house and the modern rock sculpture in front of it.
